Robust and perfectly stable, the new Emile Henry mortar does not require being held firmly in place during use. In addition, the pestle's ergonomic shape makes grinding and crushing ingredients easier. The interior of the mortar, as well as the end of the pestle, are slightly rough to grip ingredients and crush them easily against the wall. The pestle is made from ceramic, with semi-rounded edges and a handle made from birch wood. HR® (High Resistance) ceramic, developed in the Emile Henry laboratories, withstands temperatures from -20°C to 270°C, and can be used in the microwave, oven, or freezer. The enamel finish protects the vessel from scratches and chips (you can cut directly on it without damaging the surface), and it is dishwasher safe. Contains no lead, cadmium, or nickel.
