Trunk Edge Protector Strip VW Golf VII. 2012-2017 (combi, dark, matte)

The protective strip for the rear bumper of the VW Golf VII is made from dark stainless steel. The strip is resistant to all weather conditions and moisture. It reliably protects the bumper from scratches when loading and unloading items from the boot.

The protective strip is fitted using 3M double-sided adhesive tape, which is included in the pack. Using the protective strip protects the edges of the car’s bumper, thereby preventing potential repair costs.

All protective strips are attached using 3M double-sided adhesive tape, which offers excellent adhesion. However, if the bumper is not sufficiently clean or degreased, the strip may come unstuck.

When applying the strip, we strongly recommend using 3M Primer 94.

Even if the bumper has been properly cleaned and degreased, the strip may come unstuck if applied to a porous surface (e.g. a plastic bumper).

If you are installing protective strips on a newly purchased (or second-hand) car. This is because both new and second-hand cars usually have their bodywork excessively polished with waxes or ceramic-based products prior to sale. Whilst this gives the bodywork a high gloss, a bodywork treated in this way has reduced adhesion.

1. Make sure the protective strip fits your car.
2. Carefully unpack the strip.
3. Clean the surface of the bumper.
4. Place the strip on the bumper in a centred position. Do not remove the protective layer from the adhesive tape.
5. Mark the edges of the strip with paper adhesive tape.
6. Degrease the surface of the bumper.
7. Peel off the protective tape at the edges of the trim strip.
8. Stick down the edges of the trim strip.
9. Peel off the rest of the protective tape.
10. Press the protective strip down gently across the entire surface.
11. Do not wash the car for at least 24 hours after application.
