Altra Vanish Carbon 3 – carbon-plated road racing shoe with a 4 mm
drop
The Altra Vanish Carbon 3 is a performance-focused road racing
shoe for men, designed for fast race efforts and an efficient
ride. Its midsole uses FAST RCE, a supercritical PEBA foam
that Altra positions as its lightest and most responsive foam to date. A
patent-pending split carbon-fiber plate adds stiffness for
propulsion while still allowing natural movement through the forefoot.
The shoe features a 40 mm heel and 36 mm forefoot stack,
resulting in a 4 mm drop. According to Altra, the men's
version weighs approximately 200 g in the stated reference
size. The Racing FootShape fit is designed to provide a precise,
performance-oriented hold, while an independent bottom eyelet improves midfoot
lockdown without restricting the toes.
A breathable engineered-mesh upper, soft lightweight tongue and reflective
details support a distraction-free race-day fit. The updated outsole compound
is designed to provide useful traction in a lightweight package. The Altra
Vanish Carbon 3 is therefore aimed at runners looking for a light, responsive
