Martensitic stainless steelThe stainless steel used to manufacture OPINEL knife blades is optimized to guarantee both high corrosion resistance and high mechanical performance.The knife blade offers excellent sharpness and high abrasion (wear) resistance, allowing it to withstand the usual contact with hard materials such as ceramics before requiring resharpening. Stainless steel has the advantage of not requiring special maintenance under normal use, unlike carbon steel.
