Giro TOR SPHERICAL Whether you're lining up with friends for a morning lift ride or meeting up for your favorite backcountry ride, the new Tor™ Spherical helmet offers the perfect blend of fit, protection, temperature control, and styling. For the highest level of protection, the Tor features Spherical Technology™, powered by MIPS®, which reduces rotational energy during certain impacts through our unique two-piece construction. To cope with all weather conditions, we've included our adjustable Thermostat Control, which allows you to regulate your temperature. With our InForm 2 Fit System and magnetic Fidlock closure, the Tor is quick and easy to customize. Breathable Wikpro Grid Fleece provides cozy warmth without heat buildup. MIPS SPHERICAL TECHNOLOGY SETS THE STANDARD MIPS Spherical is a refinement and evolution of the Multi Directional Impact Protection System (MIPS). In this ingenious design, two layers of EPP foam fit together like a ball and socket. This system protects the brain from dangerous rotational energy in the event of a fall by allowing 10 to 15 millimeters of relative movement between the helmet and the head in the first milliseconds of an impact. MIPS Spherical offers several notable advantages: - Reduces linear and rotational impact energy - Absorbs impact energy at high and low speeds - Allows unobstructed, free airflow - Provides complete comfort FIDLOCK® MAGNETIC BUCKLE CLOSURE The one-handed Fidlock® Magnetic helmet buckle combines the advantages of two closure concepts in a completely new way. Strong magnets make opening and closing easy, while a secure snap function securely closes the straps. IN-MOLD CONSTRUCTION The in-mold construction fuses a robust polycarbonate outer shell with the shock-absorbing EPS inner shell. The in-mold process enables optimized ventilation systems. This makes in-mold helmets lighter and better ventilated than conventional helmets. THERMOSTAT CONTROL™ Thermostat Control ventilation control allows individual adjustment of airflow with a simple, unobtrusive control knob on the outside of the helmet. No other system is faster and easier, and no other system ensures the right temperature inside the helmet more effectively. HYBRID CONSTRUCTION The hybrid construction combines a robust, ventilated hardshell upper shell with an in-mold construction of the lower part and sides for additional protection and a lower profile. With the hybrid construction, the helmet is reinforced for additional durability without disproportionately increasing the weight. The hybrid construction also includes a shock-absorbing and lightweight EPS liner.
