The control button can be locked to prevent it from being switched on spontaneously, e.g. in a pocket or when transported in luggage. With the torch switched off, press the control button twice quickly (within 0.5 seconds). The flashlight will flash twice in the lowest light mode to indicate locking. To unlock, press the button again twice quickly, the flashlight flashes twice again and is unlocked.

Then plug the USB-C charging cable into the pen and the other end of the cable into a USB connector to your computer, USB AC adapter, or car. The indicator LED on the flashlight glows red while charging, and glows green when fully charged. The standard charging time is approximately 1 hour.
